(Entering grades 3-8)
Time to get creative and messy with the art of Papier Mache! Students will create large and colorful 3-D sculptures, from piggy banks to pinatas! Day 1 begins with creating the base sculptures, using balloons, oatmeal canisters, and cardboard recyclables. On days 2 and 3, we will apply strips of newspaper dipped in our papier mache mixture to our base sculptures. On days 4 and 5 we will paint our sculptures and add details. All materials will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring in a bag of newspaper and cardboard recyclables.
