Transfers, Cancellations & Refunds
Refund requests made prior to Friday, April 28, 2023 will result in a full refund minus a $30 processing fee and the original transaction fee. Refund requests made prior to Friday, June 2, 2023 will result in a refund of 1/2 of the tuition paid. In order to make a refund request, please email Vickie Festo at vfesto at darienps.org.
No refunds will be issued after June 2nd unless they are due to a significant personal circumstance. These requests must be in writing and will be judged on a case-by-case basis by the Darien Summer School Director. Any approved refunds after June 2nd are subject to a $30 fee.
If a student’s withdrawal from a class is related to Darien's ESY program, a full refund will be issued (family will be exempt from $30 processing fee).
*Please note: DSS is unable to prorate tuition for students who don't attend all of the scheduled classes.
A registration may be transferred for the same student to another course under the following guidelines:
- Prior to the first Friday of Summer School: Free of charge
- Due to a class cancellation by DSS: Free of charge
- After the first Friday of Summer School: $30 processing fee for each transfer
If a course is cancelled by DSS, full tuition will be refunded. DSS reserves the right to limit or cancel any under-subscribed courses as late as 3 days before classes begin; although, effort will be made to cancel well before then so that families can plan accordingly. Every attempt will be made to notify parents of class cancellations as soon as possible.
